These candids of Marilyn Monroe were taken shortly before her death in December 1961 by photographer Len Steckler. The negatives of this charming collection had been found recently by Steckler's son who had decided to release them to the public. Marilyn had stopped by Steckler's apartment to visit a mutual friend, poet Carl Sandburg, and graciously allowed the impromptu shoot.
