It simply amazes me that pinup imagery and “the pinup look” is now so popular with both men and women.

Not so many decades ago, racist and derogatory images of different cultures were considered cute, funny, charming, and a good draw for advertising. Eventually, people recognized them for what they were – stereotyped, exaggerated caricatures that reinforced an unrealistic and dismissive view of the people they portrayed. I hope that someday soon the same can be said for pictures like those above. Sexism seems to be the last acceptable prejudice.

I guess it can be seen that way... I take no offense to them at all! Stereotypes come from somewhere, anyway. Women are women because they have different parts then men and vice versa. Why try to homogenize everything? I don't do androgeny.

I DON'T want to be viewed as "equal" to men because I am DIFFERENT than a man. I am compossed differently than a man, physically, mentally, emotionally, biologically, instinctually....

As far as being unrealistic characatures, these are not unreal as these women actually exist (see real life model) I may want to improve some things about me physically, but I like who I am very much therefor not insulted or threatened by this.

Besides, I'd rather see this than a woman in Hustler spread eagle, no?

Love your site! My favourite films and art are from the classic era.

FYI, I noticed that the link for Muamba Escaneada does not work.
